Name:Jaden Yuki
Age:16
Appearence:(See Avatar)
Dorm:Slifer Red
Type of Deck:Neos
History:15-year old Jaden Yuki, intending to attend Duel Academy, bumps into Yugi Mutou on his way to the school's entrance examinations at the beginning of the series. He is given a Winged Kuriboh card by the legendary duelist, but receives a low score on the exam's written component, and is therefore placed in Slifer Red, the lowest ranked dormitory, alongside Syrus Truesdale and Chumley Huffington, who become his new friends. Despite lacking academic skill, Jaden is a very talented duelist and has good instincts. He was once granted entrance into Ra Yellow, but declined the offer as he preferred the "burning fiery spirit and hot passion of red."
As most of his leisure time is consumed by dueling, Jaden neither thinks much about nor has a great deal of time for a love life. He has not displayed obvious romantic affection for any character in the series; however, it is suspected by many fans that Alexis Rhodes harbors feelings for him (this is more true in the English version - in the original, while Asuka does show interest in Judai as a person, her attentions are far less of a romantic nature than in the dub). Blair Flannigan, who disguised herself as a boy to get closer to Zane Truesdale, also developed a crush on the young duelist.
The final scene of episode 2, "Welcome to Duel Academy," showing Jaden and Syrus Truesdale together. Jaden and Syrus have a strong friendship in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

Jaden has made several enemies at his school, including Vellian Crowler (Cronos de Medici), whom Jaden defeated in his examination duel. Out of spite, Crowler tried to kick Jaden out of school on many different occasions before finally beginning to respect him. Despite his carefree attitude, Jaden is an accomplished duelist, as he defeated aforementioned Crowler during his examination duel, Chazz Princeton in a school-wide duel, and Bastion Misawa for the representative position. He is also responsible for the defeat of most of the Shadow Riders, and goes on to pummel a slew of other opponents.
During the second year, Jaden ventured into Neo Space after being defeated in his second duel with Aster Phoenix. There, he learned of the ongoing battle between the forces of darkness and light. With the help of the Neo-Spacians, Jaden adopts the role of the universe's defender wielding the powers of darkness against Sartorius and the Society of Light. The task of rescuing most of his converted friends from the organization's clutches also falls on him.
